As we begin our 51st year I enthusiastically invite you all to come up to New Hampshire for the 2015 NRAAO Conference, to be held at the Sheraton Portsmouth Harborside Hotel in downtown Portsmouth, NH May 17 – May 20, 2015. We can’t wait to have you here with us, so schedule the dates and perhaps extend the conference into a vacation as well since Memorial Day will be right around the corner.
We started a conference host committee a couple years ago, and since then we have all been working wicked hard (yes, I said it) to put together a conference that we can all be proud of, under the leadership of our Conference Chair Angelo Marino – a Past President himself and a Past Conference Chair as well.
Our Education Committee has put together a variety of course offerings that will have something for everyone. In addition to a 7-hour USPAP there will be offerings such as; The Community’s Cost of Exemptions, Personal Property (is it real or is it
personal?), Reviewing an Appraisal, How to Deal With Trusts as an Assessor, Utilities, Excel for Assessors (bring a laptop for this one), Economic Trends with Peter Korpacz, and the twists and turns of “The Strange Case of Agile Mountain.” There is also going to be an all-day Vendor Round Robin to get you up close to cutting edge technologies to make our work environment more efficient.
In addition to our educational slate, there will be big fun social activities such as the “Legendary” Lobster Bake with live entertainment Monday night, a golf outing, an Ice Cream Social, our banquet on Wednesday, and what we like to call a
“Dine Around” Tuesday night offering special opportunities at various restaurants and clubs throughout town ending in a big get together at a destination as yet to be determined. When you step out the front door of the Harborside Hotel, all of
downtown Portsmouth will be at your feet; shops, clubs, restaurants, classic seaside architecture, and museums including historic Strawberry Banke. It is quaint and modern at the same time and we think you’ll love it!
